Don’t cross the line…

Read the sign on the floor

I feel like it’s been forever since I talked to you guys because last week I e-mailed you a day early and, therefore, didn’t hear from most of you.  But just about the time I have less news you have a bunch to make up for it.

This is a sign in an elevator and since we couldn't find a camera we are left wondering what UDD really is...

I ate some Thai food sometime last week and my stomach hasn’t been the same since. The good ‘ole spicy stomach kickin’ in.  Elder Vance was sick last week too with a sore throat and still isn’t better.  Poor guy.  Doesn’t want to be trunky though and still insists on going out when he’s basically dying.  While I went on splits yesterday he stayed home and got some much-needed rest.

Our zone leaders conference with President Clark was a really helpful.  They are all helpful but this was extremely practical for us.  He talked all about working with members to obtain referrals.  He used the analogy of the goose that laid the golden egg.  A lot of the time missionaries tend to focus on the literary golden egg, and ignore the goose.  If we will take better care of the goose the eggs will keep coming.  I even got to see the things we went over in action last night when I went on splits with some other missionaries.  We went to say Brother Dave Davies.  (No, I’m not making it up.)  He’s from New Zealand and is married to a Singapore native.  Really cool family.  They made us some great Chinese food and cooked up a pudding cake for dessert.  Then we had a really good lesson with Brother Davies’ wife.  He was off doing something else, and it concluded with her committing to introduce her brother to the elders.  Not bad at all.

Our investigators are moving forward well. And we should be having two baptisms this month.  The only potential problem we’re seeing is with a lady we’re teaching.  She has an amazing testimony, but her father back in China won’t let her get baptized.  We asked her to talk to him about it again and we’ll see how it goes.  The other one that could be getting baptized is in China right now, so hopefully she gets back soon and will be baptized.

A new fish and chips place just opened next to our place.  It’s legit.  $6 Sing for a plate plus a drink.  Not bad at all.

Also can,

Elder Moody
