Back in KL

January 31, 2012

Hey everybody!  I’m e-mailing today from KL.  Sister Garret in the office got us tickets for 8:00 a.m. this time around so we got here around noon.

Tomorrow we have our second zone leader conference as companionships so we’re petty excited to be able to continue to find ways to improve our zone.   We crunched the numbers yesterday and our zone had an incredible number of lessons in the month of January; 1007.  Yep, one thousand and seven!  Now that we know our zone is serious about getting out and doing work it’s time to make sure we all have the proper skill set to make the other lessons as effective as possible.

In news for Elder Vance and me this week, we were able to get two people people to set their own baptism date.  I don’t know if I told you guys about that but it’s something that been changed here.  We no longer set people on a date that we make.  Instead, we ask how long they think it will take to find the truth and then have them plan from there.  It’s a cool experience to watch them go through that whole process.  Plus, it makes them remember their own date and it really makes it “theirs”.

We found a Korean girl to teach that we’re going to pass off but she was hilarious.  She’s been in Singapore for five years so her English is pretty good but she wouldn’t let go of the fact the Elder Vance is Korean but doesn’t speak it.  She gave him so much flak.  It was hilarious.

I got the package with all the letters in it.  Mother, glitter is not cool.  I had to walk around Singapore all day looking like some kind of magical creature. Blazing red hair, blue eyes, and my skin sparkling like a Twilight vampire in the sunlight.

Hey, did you guys ever get the Christmas package I sent?  It was sent off before I left for Singapore so it definitely should have been there by now.

Every Monday we still go to family home evening with the Young Single Adults in the Chinese ward.  We eat, have a lesson and play a few games. Monday is always a good fun day.  Elder Vance is down to three weeks from today.

Well I know I’m emailing a day early so you guys haven’t had a chance to e-mail.  I spoke in church on Sunday about opening your mouth about the gospel.  We’re making it a point to start working better with the members because we want referrals – family and friends.  Give the elders (and sisters too) more referrals.

So you said a sister missionary in Vegas proposed to me, right?  Tell her I accept on the basis that her handwriting is good.

Sorry it’s short but that’s all for this week!  Love you all.

Also can,

Elder Moody

Hey, wait, I didn’t mean to be anonymous in the previous post! This is Bishop Bennion writing. By the way, I love the comment about your acceptance of the marriage proposal being based upon verification of good handwriting. Classic.
