We let Elder Moody sleep in this morning since we were up so late last night. We were on the road at about 11:00 a.m. and arrived in Provo at noon. We parked across the street from the MTC and got some photos in front of the granite MTC sign. Although we had a late breakfast, we decided to take him to Stan’s drive-in and got him a cheeseburger. As we watched vehicles pulling in to drop of their elders we decided we’d have more time if we parked and walked his luggage over. We all experienced a flurry of emotion ranging from utter sadness to complete excitement. Johnson was so excited. We hugged him at watched him walk away, escorted by another missionary and disappear into the main building. No sooner did he walk into the building than we saw Gloria and Mike Patterson. Dee ran to Gloria and gave her a big hug (and cried some more). Gloria texted us later in the day to tell us that she saw Johnson at dinner and took a photo of him and his new companion. We sat in the car and Dee had the kids write postcards to Johnson. We dropped by the BYU Bookstore and headed back to Park City. Only 729 days left!
